Simba’s story

November 6,2022-we brought Simba to emergency where they told us he has a FIP and he is dying. They told there is no way that he will survive and I have to say goodbye to him. He was only 1 year old. I couldn’t believe and didn’t want to accept it. I couldn’t put my baby to forever sleep and I brought him back home.I didn’t think he is going to make it through the night. However, he is strong boy and he was fighting how he could. Thanks to some very good people, who told me searching for amazing group who are FIP fighters! Next day I was able to get a hold of group and the same day I already gave first injection to my baby! Yes,it was very long and difficult journey:75 injections and 25 pills, but he didn’t! He went through the hell and he is alive, still with us! He fought FIP! People! Please never give up and always believe!

Oakley’s story

I had lost three cats to age and decided to get a kitten to keep my older fourth cat company. I found Oakley and immediately knew he was the one. He was 11 weeks old and had the bluest eyes and the softest fur. Once I got him home, I though I had the worlds calmest kitten. He never got into trouble. He slept, a lot. In just a few weeks I noticed he was never awake, his coat looked greasy and his eyes lost their sparkle. He stopped eating as much and his tummy was swollen and hard. On October 28th 2022 I took Oakley in for a checkup at the vets. They did an ultrasound and it revealed fluid in his abdomen. They did a fluid tap and it helped confirm FIP. His blood work was horrible. Not one thing was normal. I was told he was fatal and that he was in really poor shape. I sat in the vets office crying my eyes out. The vet made a phone call and came back to tell me to check out FIP Warriors for support. I immediately was in contact with the admins. They were thorough and got all his results along with videos and pictures. We arranged an emergency pickup. The first injection was awful. I had never given a needle before. I was a wreck but the admins talked me through every second of it. They answered my hundreds of questions and were there 24/7 to guide me and advise me. Within 12 hours I notice Oakley looked more alert. Within 24 hours Oakley was walking around. I couldn’t believe it. I was too scared to be hopeful because it seemed to good to be true. After one week, I noticed his belly was smaller and he was playing! My kitten was now a kitten! By the end of the first month, he was crazy! He brought so much laughter back into my life! His blood work showed it was working! X-rays revealed all the fluid was gone! We were able to switch to oral which made life easier as I could do it on my own and he continued to get better! When he graduated to observation I was a wreck all over again, but here we are, graduated to cured! His blood work is absolutely perfect! He is a healthy, very large, fluffy, bright eyed 10 month old kitten! All of the tears and anxiety… all of the sleepless nights… it was all worth it. He is my world and I am forever thankful for FIP Warriors and my vet for saving my baby boy. I can’t wait to see what the years ahead hold for me and Oakley and all the adventures we will go on! Pictured is the day he was diagnosed and the day he was official cured 6 months later. My vet is amazed and so happy for this cure!

Bartholomew’s story

In November of 2022, when Bartholomew was about six months old, we noticed he was lethargic and had lost his appetite. He was mischievous at that age, and we thought he had eaten something upsetting his stomach. The next day we took him to the vet, who performed an exam and took X-rays. Bartholomew had a fever, and the x-ray showed fluid in his lungs. Our vet very quickly gave us the initial diagnosis of FIP but wanted to do further testing to try and confirm. She drained some of the fluid from his lungs to be tested and did blood work. The next day, she confirmed the diagnosis of FIP and discussed our options. In the last three years, we had to put down our dog and two cats, so the thought of losing Bartholomew was devastating. We are grateful she knew about this treatment and directed us to the FIP Warriors Canada Facebook group. The admin was very quick at replying and guiding us through the process of obtaining the treatment. The following day Bartholomew received his first dose. We noticed his appetite and energy improved within the first 24 hours, and by the end of the first week, he was back to his old self. As Bartholomew improved, he also got stronger, and we struggled with the daily injections. We had to give Bartholomew stronger sedation for him to receive his treatment. After 31 days of injections, we switched to oral treatment, which Bartholomew took like a champ. He was cured on April 21, just a few days before Bartholomew’s first birthday! We cannot thank the admin support and vet for helping us. Bartholomew is a loving and playful cat; we couldn’t imagine our lives without him.

Jackson’s story

It was tough at the start. I took him to his family vet to get his dental procedure. I noticed that day his eyes seemed funny, almost like he just went blind. They did routine bloodwork before his dental, that didn't get done until two years later , they confirmed he was blind but his blood work came back severely anemic and he needed a blood transfusion immediately. Picked him up, rushed him to the university medical clinic. He had the blood transfusion and they conducted every test known to man to figure out what was causing his issues. They suspected FIP but they said there is no actual test for it so they can't be 100% sure but they are they are leaning towards it because everything else they were testing for was coming back negative. They said if it was FIP there was no cure and basically he will die so I made them keep testing for even more things just incase. Everything else was fine so they said it has to be FIP, again, nothing can be done. He had a leg that was previously shattered from an accident and it had a gazillion pins to keep the bones together. Xrays showed that that the pins were starting to fail and he was now having micro breaks. I thought maybe that was causing his inflammation so we removed his leg ( the leg was bad even with all the pins). He was still getting worse and there was nothing left to do so I sat in my truck in the parking lot outside the vet, crying, still not giving up I searched FIP in FB, found the group and here we are two years post treatment! Jackson wouldn't be here without you and the group and the medicine. It's an explosion of wonderful entity's coming together at the perfect time. He even regained his eyesight back! I will FOREVER be grateful

Sire’s story

My 10 month old ragdoll cat was was extremely ill, not eating or drinking for days. I became very concerned when he then began to hide. I took him to the vet, had some blood tests and he was diagnosed with FIP in March 2021 in Dartmouth NS. The vet informed me that the prognosis is 100% fatal and that there was no cure available through the vet. That said, I first found out FIP Warriors Canada from my vet. She told me that there is a cure available through this group and that the prognosis is promising from this medication and she recommends it. I contacted FIP Warriors Canada, met an admin and was provided treatment for my cat right away. Sire, my cat, was on a treatment plan for 84 days, where I was instructed to give him an injection once a day. After the first 24 hours I noticed an improvement in him as he got up to eat and drink. Over the next week he continued to improve and began to play and cuddle again. He grew stronger everyday. He finished the 84 day treatment and he’s been FIP free since. He’s grown to be a big, strong, healthy cat loving life and exploring. Team at FIP Warriors Canada saved my cats life! They were helpful, very supportive and encouraging throughout the entire process. Without them my cat would have died. I am thankful for them everyday knowing they are saving hundreds of thousands of cats lives and saving pet owners heartbreak. The people that run FIP Warriors Canada are doing it out of the kindness of their hearts and for their love of cats. They are angles on earth and I am extremely grateful I found them!!

The FIP Warriors group has been completely invaluable towards the care of my cat. When he was diagnosed he was given hours to days to live. Because of the quick action of this group not only did he surpass those expectations but he destroyed them entirely. Jones is currently thriving, in observation after a period of aggressive treatment provided through the group. I’m completely confident in saying he wouldn’t be here today without this group, the medicines they provide, and the people involved.

Church’s story

In January of this year a week after I had to euthanize my dog, my ex's cat Church was diagnosed with FIP. Panic started to set in as I realized that there was no cure for this and soon we would have to say goodbye to a very special cat who walked into our lives in 2019. After a colleague of mine told me a kitten in Newfoundland was cured from FIP, I searched for groups that had cat parents who went through the same thing I was going through. We were able to get treatment from Bliss and we started his treatment ASAP. The injections were difficult towards the end as he was getting aggressive and thankfully Bliss switched out the injections for pills to keep him going for the rest of his treatment! It was tough on all of us mentally and emotionally but if it wasn't wasn't Heather, I don't think I could've gotten through the last 3 months! Church is doing amazing! He's in observation since May 4 and we've noticed great improvements. His energy level has greatly improved, he's eating a lot better, he's his sassy and fiesty self again. I believe that this treatment, if made available to other cat owners going through the same thing, could greatly benefit. Veterinarians would be able to prescribe the treatment at a lower cost and more and more felines wouldn't be suffering the same fate as Church would've if not for his treatment. My fingers are crossed for us to all have many more years of laughter and fluffy kitty snuggles!

Felix’s story

Around 7 months ago we noticed our Felix wasn't acting like himself. He was only 4 months old but he was becoming very slow all of a sudden and slowly stopped eating. After a couple of weeks going back and forth to the vet we were finally told that Felix had wet FIP. The vet told us that unfortunately it is fatal, but she had received information about a medication that has been shown to be effective against FIP. She provided us with the Facebook information for FIP Warriors and that same night we were put in touch with Support Team. With their help we were able to secure the FIP medication for Felix and administer our first dose the very next day. Support Team immediately began to work with us to provide us with all the information and resources we would need for the next 6 months. Within the first 5-7 days we began to see a very positive improvement in Felix's condition and started to feel hopeful. Over the next few months, Support Team were so incredibly helpful with the entire process. From monitoring Felix's weekly weigh ins to reviewing his blood work and making sure we were always able to receive our medication quickly enough that we never had to miss a dose. After 14 weeks of treatment and 12 weeks of observation, Felix was finally deemed cured on May 31, 2022. We can safely say that if it weren't for the help of Support Team, Felix wouldn't be here today. After his diagnosis he likely wouldn't have made it through the weekend but fortunately for us Support Team were able to get us up and running almost immediately. We can't begin to thank them enough for everything they have done for us. Thank you! Luis and Catherine

KITTY’S STORY

Would like to give a big thank you to Fip Support Admins for all the help through our journey with Fip. If it wasn’t for them and this miracle treatment. I know forsure our little kitty would have never made it through it. It has really worked wonders and I really hope this treatment is able to get approved soon so it can be more accessible for everyone who is in the same situation I was.

NALU’S STORY

2 out of 9 lives left!! Nalu was diagnosed with Wet FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), Sept 2019. 4 vets and her breeder suggested we put her down to end her suffering. High fever, extremely low red blood cell count (requiring blood transfusion),High white blood count, lethargic, trouble balancing, enlarged abdomen filled with yellow fluid, trouble using her litter, loss of appetite, etc. We decided not to listen to the vets and bring Nalu home because we knew she still had some fight in her. After researching we discovered the GS Trials that’s had been done with success. Finally Hope! We started her on injectables and moved to capsules after a month however we noticed a significant improvement in only a couple of days. Mid treatment Nalu had confirmed pyomentra and we were lucky enough to be in contact with Dr Pedersen from UC Davis in California, a specialist on FIP, as we rushed her to emergency. She recovered quicker than everyone expected and the vet confirmed that at only 41 days she did not see any signs of FIP internally and her blood work also proved this. We had tears of joy. We continued with her full treatment to ensure no relapses and can’t wait for Graduation day! This little fighter isn’t going down without a fight 🥊

Gretchen’s story

It is with so much gratitude that | can say our wee Gretchen is CURED !!!

After 8 long months - many sleepless nights and a sea of tears - we can finally say she made it!

Right before Christmas last year we got the news that our wee Gretchen had Dry FIP. A week in the emergency hospital, an MRI, drained

The most amazing people | was so blessed to find ... 70 needles and 70 nights of crying - then the oral meds til the end of June, then observation, and now finally the news that she's cured!

There was no treatment option other than that offered by this amazing group.

Their support, advice and patience got us through and | will be forever grateful ~ for without them

Walter wouldn't have his Gretchen

Kitty’s story

We took our little kitty from the shelter. She had a very rough start in her life being thrown in the box on the highway with siblings at the age of 2 weeks. The day we saw her committed that this little sweet girl would never know anything but love and quality of happy life. And honestly, she is the sweetest kitten ever, all she wants is to give love 24/7. However, a few months after we took her, she started declining, no appetite, anemic (just fur and bones), lethargy, twitching and jerking all the time. Life was leaving this beautiful baby at a very high speed. Our vet pronounced a very hard to swallow sentence - FIP, terminal, “bring her to the clinic I will put her down”. But we were not ready to accept it. My husband made a research and he found out that there is the treatment - experimental, expensive but with a promise for a kitty to survive. Ok, the next step is how to get this treatment. And we found this group on Facebook. Honestly, that was the end of our troubles and beginning of the miracle journey to life and happiness. Since the moment we contacted FIP Group, they impressed us with deep knowledge, efficiency, high professionalism and absolutely compassionate approach. They helped us to get medicine right away and explained how to set the supply process for the period of treatment (98 days)!!! There was a lot on the way, but Chris was every step on the way helping and assisting us no matter what was the issue: emotional distress of myself, bad injections, supply disruptions, etc. etc. And every time we received help fast, straight to the point with high degree of knowledge not just about medicine, but all supporting issues. They guided me on how to read bloodwork, and how to give proper injections – I could not even imagine that the position of the needle can make such a difference. Several times I have nervous breakdown as injections are very painful for the cat and it tears you apart when you see your kitty suffering, but Chris and Elaine were there to help, to support, to encourage and to assist in any possible way through the process. As for the treatment itself – IT IS A TRUE MIRACLE. When we contacted FIP Group, our kitty was very lethargic, just sleeping 24/7 in the basket, cold, not willing to eat or move….it was heart breaking. Believe it or not but just 2 hours after the first injections, she got out of her blanket and started wondering around and next morning when we woke up (8 hours after the first injection) we heard her and our adult cat running like 2 elephants playing and chasing each other. We broke to tears as our baby kitten was back. She was pigging out on food and was full of energy. Yes, injection is painful, but it brings kitty to life giving her the best possible chance to survive!!! Yes, treatment is a true game changer for FIP diagnosed cats, but I still think that that the true miracle is the FIP group who do their absolutely everything, professionally, fast and with deep knowledge to make this miracle happen! If it is not for them, our beloved Sammy would cross the rainbow bridge long ago. But right now, 5 months after our first contact, we passed the active treatment stage (injections) and on the 2nd months of observation stage and our kitten is doing just GREAT! Thank you FIP group! Thank you Chris for everything!

Wampie’s story

Wampie is a very handsome domestic shorthair that was diagnosed with wet FIP the Thursday before the American holiday, Memorial Day. His most prominent clinical symptoms were anemia, 106º F temperature, and a growing belly. Wampie’s mom chose Mutian because she had heard of the quality and success of other cats being treated with it. Since starting treatment, Wampie has started playing again, maintaining a normal body temperature, and acts like a normal cat again! His estimated last day of treatment is August 25th. His owner wanted to share this personal testimony: “Mutian has been a true Miracle in Wampies life. At the time we started giving the injections he might have 2-3 days left to live. Within 24 hours after his first shot his eyes were clearing up and his inner eyelids were not showing anymore. His fever was also gone. Within 3 days the fluids in his belly were gone. We are on day 25 now and he is a true 6-month old kitten that plays, runs and cuddles with all the animals in the house.” Wampie is a Mutian warrior!

Bella Blue’s story

I adopted my beautiful baby girl Bella Blue at 4 ½ months old in September 2021. At theend of December 2021, her belly started to fill with fluid. She went from ahappy, playful kitty, to laying in a corner of my room, not playing, and barelyeating or drinking. A trip to the emergency vet on January 8, 2022, and I wasgiven the devastating diagnosis of fatal wet FIP, and told Bella had 2 weeks orless to live. This wonderful vet also told me there was an unapproved treatmentoption available, but that all he could tell me was to seek out the FacebookWarrior Group.  Those firstfew days were a blur of emotions, uncertainty, and fear. I contacted theWarriors and within hours connected with an admin, and Bella started hertreatment soon after. Treatment was super stressful, and if not for theguidance and support from my Warrior admins,I don’t know how I would have made it through! They were there day and night toanswer questions, provide information and guidance and let me know I was notalone. The same goes for the FIP Warrior Support Group. These wonderful groupmembers understood the stress and anxiety of treatment. The posts of support andunderstanding made such a difference!Fast forwardto June 24, 2022 – my baby was CURED of FIP!!!!!She is now happy, healthy, and living her best life!! Bella wasthe first cat at our local vet clinic to complete the treatment. My own vet andthe emergency vet we saw during treatment were 100% supportive of thetreatment. They even went so far as to do research and support allrecommendations made by my Warrior admins. The treatment truly is a miracle curefor FIP, and it saved my Bella’s life. I have attached a picture of Bella Blue at the time of her adoption, at the time of her diagnosis, and one from today. Sincerely, Angie

Oswald’s story

Oswald is a very handsome domestic shorthair tabby that was unfortunately diagnosed with dry FIP on June 4, 2019. He is currently being treated with Oral GS-441524 by Mutian. His most prominent clinical symptoms were low A/G ratio, severe weight loss, high temperature, and loss of appetite. His mom chose Mutian as she heard of their success and wanted to try the oral treatment. Since starting treatment, Oswald’s weight has increased almost back to “normal” and his energy has increased significantly. He is eating and acting like a kitten! His mom is very thankful for the second chance at life Oswald has gotten, and we’re sure Oswald is too! Oswald is a Mutian Warrior!

DAXTER’s story

Daxter was a very active and highly intelligent cat. He would talk all the time, run around with his brothers and escape to go running like crazy in the backyard. But at some point in august 2020, I noticed that he started to lose weight and show no interest to the food proposed to him. Having already been through the loss of a 7 month old kitten by FIP before, I immediately recognised some of the precursor signs the late kitten was showing in Daxter and brought him to the vet. After many tests and 2 nights at the vet hospital, it was confirmed to be a humid FIP acting as a big mass surrounding and making its way into his stomach. At this point, we were in the first week of january 2021 and daxter was weighing a sad 4 pounds; He had no energy, spending most of his time in my bed, he had a huge lump on his stomach preventing him from eating, not moving really, barely drinking and eating. He didn't even talk/sing anymore. It was like watching him die... He looked miserable and ... I didn't want him to suffer more than he had to, so I called the vet and planned for a euthanasia for 5 days later.

I spend the first 3 days, sadly trying to accept that my beloved baby, my little crazy guy was going to be gone soon and there was nothing I could do... I would see him everyday get weaker and weaker, lighter and less.... alive. I would even say he looked like he was fading away. It broke my heart and thinking back to it makes my heart ache. Soon, he would be no more.....

...or so I thought, until I miraculously scraped together what was left of strenght in my heart to make research and found the FIP warrior group. I read a few of the other pet parents testimony and was convinced. I had already heard through a vet technician when my kitten passed away that there had been a treatment in developpment years prior, so I decided to write to one of the admins of the group to ask questions about it; the side effects, the price, the possibilities and the chances this liquid luck could bring us( FYI: ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS, vets/authoritative figures will not necessarily always know what is best for your pet/you).

The next day, on day 4, I called the vet to cancel the euthanasia appointment.

On day 5 I was driving 2h toward the city to get the first few bottles of treatment and I can safely say, this was one of the smartest choices and most valuable monetary sacrifices I have had to do in my life. and if I had to go through it again, I would do the same choice. Meeting the person who made it possible for my baby to still be alive... Still to this day, I am deeply grateful for these people. (thank you, for everything)

Following the precise directives given by the people supporting me through this process, every day for 90 days following this point, I gave Daxter the medicine and found him to be doing much MUCH better even within the first 2-3 days!

He would eat a bit more and show interest towards water, he even started to meow again around day 13. I could finally see him come back to life.

It was not long before he started being himself again, brrrr-ing as he passed me by in the hallway, fighting his brother, running to go outside, screaming at us just 'cause... I never though I would get to see him like this again.

At the time I am writing this, it has been 2 years since we finished the treatment and Daxter is doing amazing. We have been doing kidney disease screen testing every 6 months as well as complete blood counts and up 'till last time (in may 2022) , everything looked perfect. Now, he is on the verge of starting to have kidney problems but with preventative care and follow ups with the vets, we are looking to still have him for years past today.

Every morning I wake up and feed him, I see him feasting on the food he gets and it warms me up to know... He will never have to suffer from this horrible disease. Whenever I take him out on a walk, i'm grateful to see him happily trot in front of me. Whenever he lays in bed with me, i'm grateful for this team of people who helped me keep him. Who believed in us.

Thank you. Always and for everything. I hope you will have the chance, the money and the strenght to go through this for your pet. It's not easy but... it is worth the pain.

ANONYMOUS SURVIVOR’s story

Thank you for your kind words and for your kindness and support throughout. You’ve been amazing! I’ve been as impressed by the FIP Warriors group as I hoped to be. The concern, the speed, the organization is incredible. For an underground, black market set up, all of you could put a whole lot of legit organizations to shame. We’ve been so grateful to be able to try, to hope. And I don’t know about the other two but I hope I’ll be welcome to stay on the page, to support and encourage other families and enjoy the incredible successes. I also hope to be able to watch this become a legitimate drug, one vets can prescribe openly to help more of our beautiful furry little friends.

SUSHI’s story

From the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you for helping me through the treatment that Sushi needed to survive. When I think back to that day when I first was in contact with you, how sick he was, and how close I came to taking Sushi to be euthanized, I come to tears thinking of how stressful that was. I was watching the clock, thinking I had literally under an hour to save this cat. I will be forever grateful to Krista for meeting me in that Leduc parking lot with that initial batch of medication, and to the rest of you for arranging Heather to come into the group with information of the meds she could get that would eventually save his life. I adopted sushi in December and he was diagnosed with FIP at the beginning of February (I think). He was always a lovable cat, so squishy and cuddly, but now I realize that his desire to be held, and his calm demeanor actually were signs that he was not feeling well. His energy was dwindling the sicker he got so it was easy to hold him and cuddle him. The cat he is now is so different from the cat I adopted. Sushi has the energy of 10 cats. He tires me out. I have to leave the house to get work done ... I'm actually considering getting him a playmate. I can't imagine my life without him. He has brought me so much joy so thank you for getting us through this, thank you for your quick action and for all the information you gave me. Thank you for working so hard to get sushi the medication he needed. We will be forever grateful.
