KITTY'S FIP STORY

We took our little kitty from the shelter. She had a very rough start in her life being thrown in the box on the highway with siblings at the age of 2 weeks. The day we saw her committed that this little sweet girl would never know anything but love and quality of happy life. And honestly, she is the sweetest kitten ever, all she wants is to give love 24/7. However, a few months after we took her, she started declining, no appetite, anemic (just fur and bones), lethargy, twitching and jerking all the time. Life was leaving this beautiful baby at a very high speed. Our vet pronounced a very hard to swallow sentence - FIP, terminal, “bring her to the clinic I will put her down”. But we were not ready to accept it. My husband made a research and he found out that there is the treatment - experimental, expensive but with a promise for a kitty to survive. Ok, the next step is how to get this treatment. And we found this group on Facebook. Honestly, that was the end of our troubles and beginning of the miracle journey to life and happiness. Since the moment we contacted FIP Group, they impressed us with deep knowledge, efficiency, high professionalism and absolutely compassionate approach. They helped us to get medicine right away and explained how to set the supply process for the period of treatment (98 days)!!! There was a lot on the way, but Chris was every step on the way helping and assisting us no matter what was the issue: emotional distress of myself, bad injections, supply disruptions, etc. etc. And every time we received help fast, straight to the point with high degree of knowledge not just about medicine, but all supporting issues. They guided me on how to read bloodwork, and how to give proper injections – I could not even imagine that the position of the needle can make such a difference. Several times I have nervous breakdown as injections are very painful for the cat and it tears you apart when you see your kitty suffering, but Chris and Elaine were there to help, to support, to encourage and to assist in any possible way through the process. As for the treatment itself – IT IS A TRUE MIRACLE. When we contacted FIP Group, our kitty was very lethargic, just sleeping 24/7 in the basket, cold, not willing to eat or move….it was heart breaking. Believe it or not but just 2 hours after the first injections, she got out of her blanket and started wondering around and next morning when we woke up (8 hours after the first injection) we heard her and our adult cat running like 2 elephants playing and chasing each other. We broke to tears as our baby kitten was back. She was pigging out on food and was full of energy. Yes, injection is painful, but it brings kitty to life giving her the best possible chance to survive!!! Yes, treatment is a true game changer for FIP diagnosed cats, but I still think that that the true miracle is the FIP group who do their absolutely everything, professionally, fast and with deep knowledge to make this miracle happen! If it is not for them, our beloved Sammy would cross the rainbow bridge long ago. But right now, 5 months after our first contact, we passed the active treatment stage (injections) and on the 2nd months of observation stage and our kitten is doing just GREAT! Thank you FIP group! Thank you Chris for everything!
