SOXX'S FIP STORY
Just want to post a bit of happy ending FIP.... it was a long journey to where we are now. All thanks to this group setting up a sketchy drive by drug pick up was very skeptical at the time... but Soxx was days away from dying. Vet said if we took her home she would be dead in two days. All started with a little kitty cold.. then seizures.. weight loss, loss of appetite, shaky eyes and always large pupils. When it progressed it was in her brain so much she lost complete use of her back legs... so as I care for her and clean her and feed her, she was still getting worse... ( all while careing for my new born too) ..Till we started the magical injections...within about a week she started regaining use of her legs.. and with help of other medications from the vet she slowly got more appetite... and after months of injections and pill forcing, and water IVs and never ending vet visits.. she was getting better... at the same time though we were losing her trust, and she slowly became more distant of the ones who were doing the treatment.
For a long time after too, she still remained distant... later causing anxiety issues, and bladder issues. Along with the long term neurological issues of shaky eyes and head rocking back and forth alot and always large pupils
I got the idea of finding another cat/friend for her( emotional support, you know). After some time of adjusting and letting her guard down.. this new 3 year old cat has begun to bring down Soxx walls... she is playful, and cuddly, and loving and wanting love now.. almost like pre FIP and seems most of the neurological damage is fading away as well
It's been a long road, and and big bill... but results are showing 95% now.. honestly we thought the neurological damage was permanent, it remained for soo long... have so much love for this group and the people involved. You are all angels saving little lives!
