CHURCH'S FIP STORY

In January of this year a week after I had to euthanize my dog, my ex's cat Church was diagnosed with FIP. Panic started to set in as I realized that there was no cure for this and soon we would have to say goodbye to a very special cat who walked into our lives in 2019. After a colleague of mine told me a kitten in Newfoundland was cured from FIP, I searched for groups that had cat parents who went through the same thing I was going through. We were able to get treatment from Bliss and we started his treatment ASAP. The injections were difficult towards the end as he was getting aggressive and thankfully Bliss switched out the injections for pills to keep him going for the rest of his treatment! It was tough on all of us mentally and emotionally but if it wasn't wasn't Heather, I don't think I could've gotten through the last 3 months! Church is doing amazing! He's in observation since May 4 and we've noticed great improvements. His energy level has greatly improved, he's eating a lot better, he's his sassy and fiesty self again. I believe that this treatment, if made available to other cat owners going through the same thing, could greatly benefit. Veterinarians would be able to prescribe the treatment at a lower cost and more and more felines wouldn't be suffering the same fate as Church would've if not for his treatment. My fingers are crossed for us to all have many more years of laughter and fluffy kitty snuggles!
