Frankies Fip Story
My kitty Frankie was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis at the end of October of 2022. She started acting strange a couple weeks earlier, head shaking and her one eye looked ever so slightly less open with her pupil a tiny bit more dilated. The vet but had trouble recognizing her subtle eye changes and attributed her head shaking to an ear infection. Her condition worsened, her eye began to get foggy and her balance started to become off, she was falling and not jumping like she normally would be. I returned to the vet with her, her eye was now more noticeable and she was diagnosed with Uveitis, bloodwork was ran and this was when we received her dry/neurological/occular FIP diagnosis. Our vet told me that this was a death scentence, there was no treatment and she likely won’t live for more than a couple of months. They gave me some medication to keep her comfortable and sent us home to decide when we want to euthanize her. I immediately searched the internet for alternative opinions and found FIP Warriors. They were extremely helpful in confirming her diagnosis and getting us into a medication trial for her. I was skeptical, and in a panic, but my FIP admin was reassuring and followed us through every step of the way. Before medication Frankie was extremely lethargic and confined herself to her crate, after a few days of starting FIP medication she started making huge improvements- she was up and trying to move around again. Now she has finished treatment and completed observation and is cured of FIP. She is a normal happy cat again, running around, jumping and acting crazy. This treatment saved her life.
